This video is amazing! 🤣😂 • Returning to land after over 41 days at sea, can be challenging. Rowers find themselves waking up every couple of hours, they have nightmares of being still out on the water, and it generally takes a little while to get used to home comforts. 🏡 • And...for some of our rowers, those old ocean habits, die hard! 😳 • Scott and Pat were on the same shift together when they were at sea, and if you remember, we were treated to a 'cribs' style look around their cabin whilst they were out there. 🎥 • When they were both in the cabin together, it was very cosy. During an interview with @durango_herald shortly after landfall, Brendan described the feeling of making land. 🏝️ • He expressed it as a feeling beyond words - and so impossible to accurately summarise here...but this elation, is actually a feeling that is born out of intense hardship. ☯️ • Seeing some people on a pier doesn't normally cause a group of adults to break down in tears(!), but 41 days of incredibly difficult circumstance, of extreme endurance, of uninterrupted thought and reflection...suddenly that pier becomes a whole different experience. The more they endured the more this landing meant to them. 😲 • And that is perhaps the draw of taking on something like this...the feelings of tiredness, of exhaustion, of despair, they're perhaps the most extreme they've ever felt. But equally, the feelings of happiness, of joy, of excitementagain they're perhaps the most extreme they've ever felt.
